11:00 a.m.
We come from two
different places
yet i can see you
across my hometown’s backyard
Far in realities and agreements
yet close in spirits that have ways
of intertwining the pieces of us that
fall apart
Your soul connects with mine
because without you
i stay as a ribbon
cut and frayed
But your match-like
fire burns my edges
til they stay
Closed together forever
you burn an infinite light
within me
And sometimes that’s why
I think i’m scared of the
dark
But I’ll run wildly
through fields at night
if it means I get you
at the end of my lark
For a place without you
leads me to believe
that love can truly
blow out one day
And so I want to hold you so long
that my hands never forget
the feeling of
your arched back’s sway
The touch of your lips
against my body and hips
is something I could
wake up to every morning
And every night away
from your warm tender touch
leaves me lacking of
caress and adorning.
Kiss me to sleep
play with my hair
and laugh
til we can’t any longer
These are what I ask of you
and in return I’ve got
more than you even know
i’ll offer.
We’ll burn together
through moons upon moons
Until our wax has just about
run out
But until then I’ll stay curious
to discover every flicker
of what you’re
all about.
